Because your Daughters are worth it

Meet the inspiring women pursuing careers in STEM

Just one in four jobs in STEM are held by women and they don't always have the smoothest journey. But why is this and why does it matter?

In this video, presented by AJ Odudu, we hear from women working in the scientific sphere about their own experiences growing up and the potential issues that can cause some girls who are interested in science at a young age to step away from STEM as they grow older.

We also hear how many aspects of our lives are touched and shaped by professionals working in STEM such as climate change, nutrition, transport and hair and beauty. And that limiting the talent pool is not just an issue for women, it’s an issue for society.

Watch the video to learn more about what can be done to maintain enthusiasm, the role of the L'Oréal Young Scientist Centre at the Royal Institution in giving all young people the chance to become scientists for the day, and the impact of the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women In Science awards in creating female role models that young girls can aspire to.
